Glimpse
A desktop app that records your screen and publishes it to your YouTube channel.
What Glimpse is
Glimpse is a desktop application for Windows and macOS that records your screen, camera, microphone, and system audio, and then uploads the finished recording directly to your own YouTube channel — all without leaving the app. It is designed for creators, educators, and teams who want to capture a video and get it onto YouTube in a single step.
What Glimpse does
- Record your screen, webcam, microphone, and system audio — together or separately.
- Choose a destination — pick which of your YouTube channels and playlists the recording goes to, and set the privacy (public, unlisted, or private).
- Upload on finish — when you stop recording, Glimpse uploads the video straight to YouTube. The video lands in your account, owned by you.
- Connect multiple accounts — sign in with more than one Google account and switch between channels.
How Glimpse uses your Google Account
Glimpse asks you to sign in with Google so it can upload recordings to a YouTube channel you own. With your permission, Glimpse uses your Google account only to:
- Identify your account — read your basic Google profile (name, email, and picture) to show which account is connected.
- List your YouTube channels and playlists — so you can choose where a recording should be uploaded.
- Upload videos on your behalf — publish the recording you created to the channel and playlist you selected, with the privacy setting you chose.
Glimpse does not use your Google data for advertising and does not sell it. Recordings are created on your device and uploaded directly to your YouTube channel — they are never routed through or stored on a Glimpse server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
